Founded in 1949, HPA provides boarding for students in grades 9-12 and post graduate (PG). HPA is a global community for highly-motivated students who seek rigorous academic programs and extraordinary learning experiences. HPA's unique island location, which includes 80 percent of the world's ecosystems, provides opportunities for students to engage in specialized place-based learning.

Sea Turtle Research
Since 1987, in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), HPA students have studied green sea turtles in Hawai‘i and many other parts of the world. This is hands-on science at its best!
A true signature program at HPA, the Equestrian Program began in 1957; students at all skill level can enjoy polo, jumping, dressage, trail riding, and even some Western Style riding.
