Heathfield School has been awarded ‘Excellent’ in all categories by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in February 2018. The inspectors stated that ‘pupils grow into young people who make a difference to the world and live their lives boldly’ and that ‘pupils consistently demonstrate positive attitudes to learning and achieving their best’. They concluded that ‘pupils are articulate, happy and confident’.

Founded in 1899, Heathfield was in the vanguard of educational establishments advocating the theory that happiness equated with academic success and has always placed high importance on pastoral care accordingly.

In 2017, the school achieved its best ever GCSE results with 60% of students gaining top A*-A and the new 8-9 grades. At A Level, 88% achieved all A*-C grades with more than half gaining all A*-B grades. Students achieved well in both academic and vocational subjects, gaining places at a diverse range of prestigious destinations – from leading Russell Group universities such as Edinburgh, Exeter, Newcastle and Warwick to acclaimed arts and drama colleges RADA and Central St Martins.

A fulfilling and enriching programme of co-curricular activities and sport, music, drama and the arts ensures Heathfield girls have an holistic and inspiring education.
