d’Overbroeck’s is a leading UK co-educational independent day and boarding school located near to the centre of Oxford. We are well known for our encouraging and supportive approach as well as for excellent academic results and outstanding pastoral care. Teaching is in small classes so every student can be heard and can participate in lessons and ask questions. As well as being experts in their subject areas, our teachers excel in motivating and inspiring students.

We offer A levels in our Sixth Form, IGCSE programmes at our International Section, and Summer English Courses in July and August.

Our Sixth Form is based in brand new facilities in North Oxford, with a newly built Sixth Form boarding house directly opposite. We have 280 students, the majority of whom are from the UK. Classes are small (maximum of 10) with highly interactive and motivating teaching. The teaching is designed to help students achieve the best grades but also develop critical thinking skills which are vital for university success. Each student has a Director of Studies who monitors their progress and provides guidance including one-to-one advice on the university application process.

Alongside the academic programme there is a full range of activities, sport and social events.  A levels are offered as 2 year courses, starting in September each year.  We also run specialist programmes for students wanting to apply for Oxford and Cambridge universities, for Law or Medicine or to study in the USA.  Our students go on to gain excellent exam results leading them to the very best universities in the UK such as the London School of Economics, UCL or Oxford.

Our International Section is based just a few minutes from the centre of Oxford. Students study six to eight IGCSEs as well as benefitting from a superb programme of sports, activities and visits, in which they join with students from across the school. There is an excellent enrichment and cultural programme embedded within the timetable. Students are supported closely and parents are kept well informed of their son or daughter’s progress. Classes of no more than 12 students, so no student gets overlooked. After IGCEs students stay with us for A levels or go on to other top British schools for A levels or the IB.

Our International Section offers one or two year courses and takes students from age 14. One term UK Study Abroad options are also available (please enquire).

Summer English Course (July and August).
d’Overbroeck’s Summer courses offer effective English language programmes in conjunction with activities, trips and workshops based on a weekly theme. Students learn in context by applying their language to a theme such as ‘Business and Marketing’.  As well as rapidly improving their English, students benefit from the experience of studying and living overseas for a short period and many then go on to study on full time courses in the UK.
